I began working for Heritage Properties six years ago as an Assistant Manager; and the knowledge that I have gained is truly priceless.  Through hard work and determination as well as the countless hours of different training opportunities that Heritage is always offering;  I worked my way up to The Property Manager position.   Heritage is so willing to promote within and gave me the opportunity to take on the responsibility of managing one of their amazing properties. Heritage Properties really impressed me when I was looking for an apartment in Oxford, MS. Calling one of their properties home was one of the best decisions of my life because I was able to meet a property manager that invested in her residents and took the time to get to know me. The property manager of my apartment community referred me for a job as a part time leasing agent at a sister property in Oxford. 

Heritage Properties needed a leasing agent, but I needed Heritage Properties. They helped me see how I could build a career utilizing my strongest attributes. Heritage Properties impressed me with the amount of training and time they spent making sure I understood what was expected of me professionally while supplying the necessary tools I needed to excel at my position. 

I worked part time with Heritage Properties for one year and was offered an Assistant Manager position at the property I was currently working. I was thrilled to be moving up in the Heritage family. After being an Assistant Manager for six months, a Property Manager position opened up at sister property in town. My regional asset manager, Debbie Parton, sat me down and outlined the great responsibility that comes with being a property manager, and I accepted the challenge. I am so grateful that Heritage Properties invested in me and chooses to continue to invest in me.

I started with Heritage in 2010 at a new class A Luxury property in Louisiana. After 3 years, I receive an offer to work for a different company in a corporate supervisory position. A short 18 months later I realized that although climbing the "corporate ladder" was important to me, the "ladder" itself was MORE important than the climb. Heritage welcomed me home with open arms, and I could not have been happier with my decision to return. Some may see returning onsite as step down in position, for me it a was step back on the right path. That was over 4 years ago, and since then Heritage has offered more opportunity for my family and career with a transfer to a larger property on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi.

In my 14 years in this industry, no other company has offered the family atmosphere and employee appreciation that Heritage has. Our owners' expectations are high, as they should be; however, the personal attention, support and training they provide for their staff and properties makes it easy to push our onsite teams to perform above their expectations. I became a member of the Heritage Properties family in 2010 when I returned home to Mississippi. I started as the maintenance supervisor at Crossgates and worked diligently to align my knowledge and expertise with the company’s goals. In 2015, after proving my loyalty and work ethic, I was promoted to Regional Maintenance Coordinator for the North Mississippi and Tennessee properties.  My tenure with Heritage has been a success story that proves if you perform to the best of your ability and remain loyal there is no limit to where you can go with Heritage Properties.
